Tomillo VII

Tomillo VII is a 16.2 hand grey Andalusian (PRE) stallion originally imported from Spain. He has obtained the coveted status of “Qualified” / “Calificado” in the Spanish Studbook (ANCCE). Less than 2% of all PREs are Qualified, and less than 20 exist in the USA. Tomillo was originally trained and shown at Grand Prix by Don Francisco Garcia, a Specialist Master Rider from the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art. Tomillo then competed several seasons with Fie Andersen, helping her to obtain her Gold Medal.

Tomillo earned the Championship at Intermediare II for the International Andalusian Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA) through USDF All Breeds Awards in 2013. He was also the 2013 All Breeds Grand Prix Reserve Champion. Tomillo especially excels at piaffe, passage, pirouettes, and one tempis, and has even received a score of “10” for his piaffe in competition. His wonderful brain and gentle temperament make him a perfect mount for his Adult Amatuer owner Samantha Kidd.

He was the very first PRE stallion in North America to be fully approved for breeding by the German Oldenburg Verband and is now only 1 of 4 PREs with this distinction. Foals by Tomillo and out of German Oldenburg Verband approved for breeding mares will receive full German pink papers.

Tomillo’s stud fee is $1600 (including $300 booking fee) for PRE mares and $1300 (including $300 booking fee) for Warmblood mares, for a fresh semen contract with a LFG.
Frozen semen is sold at $600 per dose.

Pedigree:

Tomillo was bred by Don Alvaro Domecq, the breeder of Rafael Soto’s Olympic silver medalist Invasor. Tomillo shares three bloodlines with the late, great Invasor II; Panadero VIII, Invasor’s sire and Tomillo’s damsire, is the most important common ancestor. The other lines are Rociana and Albero II. The majority of dressage and functionality PRE champions over the last 15 years have come from the Albero II line.
