Description
The Duke of Clarence is a 14.1 hand (USEF pony carded) buckskin Westphalian Germany Riding Pony stallion. Clarence was the Pony Top Seller as a foal at the Elite Westphalian Auction in 2007. He then attended and passed the Westphalian licensing in Germany and was imported to Canada at age 3. He was owned and trained by Nicola Wallace of West Coast Warmbloods, and the pair rode in many clinics with top trainers, such as Markus Gribbe. In 2015 Clarence joined Arion Sporthorses in order to stand at stud and be made publicly available for breeders.
Clarence is currently competing 3rd level dressage and has been extremely successful showing in hand. In 2016, Clarence finished all his performance requirements for Weser-Ems and was lifetime approved with that registry as well. Clarence has had a limited number of offspring thus far, but all have inherited Clarence’s horse quality gaits, good brains, and tremendous rideability. All 3 of Clarence’s 2017 foals were named Premium by Weser-Ems and 1 of those was also named a Foal of Distinction.
Clarence is lifetime approved with both Weser-Ems and Westphalian. He is being bred to both ponies and full sized Warmbloods at this time. Clarence’s stud fee is $1200 USD (including the $300 booking fee) LFG. Discounts available for Premium/Elite mares and mares with top competition records.

Pedigree:
Clarence’s sire, the Premium Stallion Classic Dancer I, was crowned Bundeschampion in 2009. From his first foal crop in 2007, Classic Dancer produced four licensed sons (including Clarence and the closely related Classic’s Charmeur), and six state premium mares. His sire, the legendary FS Champion de Luxe, was licensing and performance test champion and a double Bundeschampion. Classic Dancer’s dam, States Premium Ginette, by Golden Dancer, was champion mare of the Rhenish elite show and is the mother of six licensed sons, including the full brothers Classic Dancer I, II and III.
Clarence’s dam Nonchalance is by the top pony jumper Night Star III. Night Star won the 1992 National Championships of German show jumping ponies in Verden. He was repeatedly victorious in jumping horse classes A and L. At the HLP in Münster-Handorf he received multiple scores of 10. In 1998 he was Westphalian Champion, won the German Classics, finished second in the Derby, and also won many other M-jumping competitions nationally and internationally.
Nonchalance is out of States Premium Donata, who is out of the Elite Mare Suleika. Suleika is by the Welsh Section B stallion Shalom, who originates from the great Downland dynasty of British Riding Ponies. States Premium Donata is by Domingo B, an outstanding Premium Stallion by Derby, via the female line of Valentino. This sire-line is highly successful, particularly on the international dressage circuit, and has produced top sires such as Derano Gold, Dornik B, Golden Dancer, Dressman, and FS Don’t Worry.
