Lucien’s sire Lagoheidor is a rare combination – having won both his Keuring and Stallion Performance Test, competed successfully at international FEI show jumping and FEI dressage, and produces international FEI jumping and dressage offspring. Lagoheidor was Supreme Champion stallion of the 1994 Oldenburg approvals, convincing in every respect. A year later, he dominated at the Stallion Performance Test in Medingen, against heavy competition with a score of 140.75 points. He won the total classification with equally high points in all criteria including achieving two perfect scores of 10 in jumping. His progeny are achieving high placings at international FEI jumping and dressage competitions. Lagoheidor has sired several approved stallions including Lord Oldenburg who was Reserve Champion at his Stallion Performance Test in Germany.

Lucien’s dam is our foundation broodmare, the Selle Francias mare Heartland (Olisco/Omega/Fresco). Olisco was the highest placing American horse in the World Cup in 1990. In 1992, he finished second in the U.S. Olympic trials and went to Barcelona as Michael Matz’ reserve horse. In 1994 and 1995 he won the Budweiser Grand Prix in New Hampshire and the American Express Open Jumping Championship. Heartland’s dam Warina (by Omega) was a favorite jumper mount of Alison Firestone and also produced the champion jumper Kix.

Heartland has produced numerous top jumpers, including the international jumper November (now ridden by Alexa Lowe Wiseman) and Jennifer Hannan’s GP jumper Lamplight. In July of 2014 November placed 3rd in the $75,000 HITS Saugerties GP! Heartland is also the dam of Arwen (by Indoctro), a member of the 2014 gold medal winning Young Riders show jumping team.

Lucien is a top jumper prospect for a professional or very motivated amateur. He has the kind temperament of both his sire and dam and should have the easy rideability that his dam is renowned for producing.
